Frequently Asked Questions

Forest Hills Trossachs Curling Club (FHTCC) currently comprises around 20 playing members.

Internal club competitions take place at Greenacres on a Sunday afternoon (usually 1 or 2 games per month). FHTCC is part of the Forth & Endrick Province and is affiliated to the RCCC.

Who can join?

We are a mixed club, and welcome players of all ages and ability.

How much does it cost?

The annual subscription is £10. Members shall also be required to pay an annual RCCC affiliation fee, unless they have declared a different club as their "Mother Club". This should be declared on joining FHTCC or at such time as a member decides to declare a different club to be "Mother Club".

FHTCC playing members also require to be members of the Greenacres Curling Rink at a cost of £40 per annum (£20 first year).

In addition, ice money is payable to Greenacres for ice booked. The club pays this on receipt of invoice from Greenacres. Members are required to pay in advance. Charges shall be invoiced in advance of the curling season commencing. Payment can be made in one or two instalments (with the agreement of FHTCC Treasurer). The full cost for a season, taking into account all membership and ice charges for league games, can be approaching £200. There may be additional on the day charges for friendly games played against other clubs and any ad-hoc bonspiels.

Equipment and clothing?

Footwear should be clean and provide a good grip. A pair of clean trainers are sufficient.

Brushes are provided by the ice rink should you not have your own.

There are no additional charges for the use of stones or brushes.
